Summary:
The Knives and Optics Department Manager is responsible for overseeing daily operations, ensuring excellent guest service, and driving sales success. This role includes supervising staff, managing guest interactions, maintaining product standards, and achieving sales targets.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Supervise daily operations, ensuring a welcoming and efficient sales floor.
• Lead and mentor staff in customer service, sales techniques, and product knowledge.
• Address guest needs and resolve complex situations, escalating when necessary.
• Train staff on effective communication and proper product handling.
• Implement sales strategies to boost performance, including upselling and closing techniques.
• Ensure accurate sales processing and inventory management.
• Maintain clean, organized displays and back stock areas.
• Participate in merchandising, product displays, and floor moves.
• Motivate the team to meet sales goals and deliver exceptional service.
• Handle incoming calls and company emails professionally.
• Perform additional tasks as assigned by management.

Supervisory Responsibilities:
Lead and motivate the sales team, ensuring adherence to policies and procedures.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent required; bachelor’s degree preferred
• 2+ years of retail experience, preferably in knives/optics/shooting sports, with 1+ year in a supervisory role
• Proven success in sales management and team leadership
• Strong knowledge of POS systems, inventory, and merchandising
• Scheduling and leadership

Physical Demands:

• Ability to stand, walk, and handle merchandise for extended periods
• Frequent lifting of up to 50 pounds, with tasks such as reaching, stooping, and climbing
• Specific vision abilities required, including close, distance, and peripheral vision

Work Environment:

• Exposure to airborne particles and chemicals, moderate to high noise levels
• Safety equipment must be worn as required

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $13.00 - $15.00 per hour
