Overview
We are seeking a talented Design Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in various design tools and methodologies to contribute to our innovative projects.

Job Summary:

Responsible for FTTx design in various network architectures for Deeply Digital’s clients. Work with the Design and GIS team to produce detailed FTTx prints for construction teams. Report to the Project Director and Design Team Lead for the completion of various design tasks.

Job Responsibilities (Including, but not limited to):

  • Create fiber optic pathway and splice designs for various network architectures (including distributed split and centralized with FDH cabinets) and for headend fiber termination.
  • Plan and design FTTx networks following construction and government standards using ArcGIS Pro.
  • Work with design team and review the current Plant design to understand the principles and practices of the current FTTx design.
  • Perform quality-control checks to ensure that all work meets or exceeds customer requirements.
  • Collaborate with the Splice and Construction team to improve the FTTx design continuously.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

General

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent required
  • Bachelor’s degree in science, technology, engineering, or mathematics preferred.
  • Experience and understanding of outside plant engineering and construction techniques
  • Experience working with GIS software is required: ArcGIS Pro, Google Earth
  • Familiar with GIS data management concepts for web and local data manipulation.
  • Knowledge of fiber networking, routing, and network management best practices.
  • Experience with PON design for centralized and distributed split networks is required.
  • Ability to read work prints and construction drawings.
  • Knowledge of OSP Engineering is preferred.
  • Knowledgeable in local, state, and railroad permitting regulations regarding ROW, property rights, and easements.
  • Intermediate to advanced skills in all Microsoft Office programs, especially MS Excel.
  • Field experience in splicing or other OSP construction is strongly preferred.
  • Deadline-driven, self-motivated, and technically savvy.
  • Excellent verbal and written interpersonal communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail. Ability to maintain excellent data integrity.
  • Ability to work with a team.
  • Critical thinking skills; make assessments and provide solutions to problems.
  • Ability to maintain professional tact in a fast-paced work environment with internal personnel and clients.

Pay: $60,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year
