Role Overview
We are seeking a skilled Network Technician with hands-on experience in fiber optics, structured cabling, and data center operations. The ideal candidate will be responsible for installation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of network infrastructure, ensuring optimal performance and reliability.
Key Responsibilities
- Install, terminate, and test fiber optic cables, including patch panels and splicing.
- Perform fiber tracing and troubleshooting, including identifying and resolving fiber cuts or signal loss.
- Install and troubleshoot UTP cabling (Cat5e, Cat6, Cat6a, Cat7).
- Support data center rack installation, cable management, and equipment setup.
- Assist in data center operations, including monitoring, maintenance, and incident response.
- Use and maintain data center monitoring tools to track network performance and uptime.
- Ensure all installations follow industry standards and safety protocols.
- Maintain documentation for network layouts, cabling, and troubleshooting activities.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in IT, Networking, or a related field.
- Proven experience in fiber optics installation and troubleshooting.
- Strong knowledge of structured cabling systems (UTP & fiber).
- Familiarity with data center environments and rack systems.
- Basic understanding of network monitoring tools and practices.
- Ability to diagnose and resolve connectivity issues efficiently.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Certifications such as CCNA or fiber optic certifications.
- Experience working in a live data center environment.
