Fiber Optic Test Technician (Tier 1)

Must-Have Skills:

• Hands-on experience with OLTS (Light Source / Power Meter) testing
• Experience with VFL / Red Light testing (continuity & fault identification)
• Strong knowledge of fiber cleaning & inspection (scope usage)
• Experience working with MPO/MTP connectors
• Ability to work independently and coordinate with remote teams
• Strong documentation and reporting skills
• Experience in data center environments

Certifications Required:

• OSHA 10 (Mandatory)
• CPR Certification (Mandatory)

Good to Have:

• FOA CFOT or BICSI Installer 1/2

Preferred Experience:

• Experience with Fluke or Viavi testing equipment
• Basic knowledge of OTDR testing
• Experience testing high volume fiber (100s–500+ connections)
• Prior hyperscaler / large data center project experience

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform Tier 1 fiber testing using OLTS (set reference, measure loss, validate pass/fail)
• Conduct VFL testing for continuity and troubleshooting
• Ensure proper fiber cleaning and inspection before testing
• Execute high-volume fiber testing with accuracy and consistency
• Maintain detailed and accurate test documentation/results
• Coordinate with remote teams for testing validation

Pay: $25.00 - $35.00 per hour

Work Location: In person
