Field Customer Support Technician for Automation

Job Title: Field Support Technician

Reports To: Engineering Manager

Job Summary:

Dajac is looking for an ambitious, outgoing and energetic Field Support Technician.

The primary duties for this position are to provide technical support and training for customers both, in factories on-site and in-office.

If you have an interest in IT, IT support, desktop support, customer support, CompTIA, system administration, automation machines, cameras, machine vision, controls and part inspection you will enjoy this job!

Customer locations range from within driving distance to international. The amount of travel will vary according to customer needs, but will be roughly 40% - 50% per year and typically home on weekends. While advanced scheduling is the goal, trips can be short notice. Only apply if you can commit to being on-site where needed, when needed.

When in the office, you will be performing customer-facing tasks, such as supporting customers through phone, email and remote login, coordinating support, creating training material, training support partners, editing user's manuals, testing software and assisting the sales and marketing teams.

Essential Responsibilities:

• Provide on-site and in-office technical support to customers
• Install and configure software and equipment and deploy projects
• Travel roughly 40% - 50% of the year to support customers on-site
• Create training material
• Train users
• Document support processes
• Communicate with management
• Other duties, logically associated with the position and your skills

Work Environment:

• Must be willing to relocate within 60 miles of Dajac’s corporate office in Sheridan, IN
• Work at the corporate office when not traveling

Education and Work Experience:

• 3 years in a field customer support role advantageous
• This position is ideal for a 2 year or 4 year degree in engineering (software engineering, mechanical engineering, optical engineering, electrical engineering), computer science or information technology (IT)

Other Requirements:

• Must have a valid driver’s license
• Must have a car and auto insurance

Pay: $50,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year
