Field Mechanic for Vocational Utility Work Trucks or Construction / Agricultural Equipment / Medium / Heavy duty trucks
- You will work with a variety of equipment including aerial cranes, bucket trucks, boom trucks, dump trucks, conveyors, digger derricks, pressure diggers, and aerial lifts and more.
- Do you experience or an interest in working with truck-mounted hydraulic utility equipment such as aerial devices, digger derricks, chippers, cranes; construction, mining, farm equipment such as excavators, skid steers, dozers or tractors.

Summary
Being a field technician for Sharp Crane is a unique opportunity that will require the technician to work on various types of equipment. This position will report to the shop daily and be dispatched to jobs from open to close Monday – Friday and perform services on customer equipment located at the customer facility. Some weekends will be required. This position is an hourly paid position.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- This position involves troubleshooting, diagnostics, major component change-outs, and preventive maintenance of truck-mounted hydraulic utility equipment. primary products include Aerial Devices, Digger Derricks, Cranes, and Specialty Equipment.
- A normal day could include troubleshooting, diagnostics, major component change outs, and preventive maintenance of truck-mounted hydraulic utility equipment.
Preferred Experience
- Previous equipment service/field/mobile/shop technician service experience
- Education related to mechanics, electronics, welding, electrical or hydraulic systems
- Exp with, e.g., truck-mounted hydraulic utility equipment such as aerial devices, digger derricks, chippers, cranes; construction, mining, farm equipment such as dozers or tractors; military heavy equipment wheeled or track, generator, ground support equipment.
Basic Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Must be able to pass background and drug test.
- Preference for having a commercial driver license or welding certification
- Must have your own tools
- Must be able to complete a DOT physical
- Physical effort to move objects and tools; frequent stooping, bending, squatting, and kneeling and a high level of dexterity
- Availability to work weekends as necessary
- Able to provide a range of services to our customers with most performed in shop, but road repairs are occasionally required.
- Maintain and neat and orderly work area
- Perform other duties required by supervisor
- Ability to weld is a plus
- Follows safe work practices and uses safety equipment when required.
