Budget Title: Senior Staff Assistant (SL-3)

Salary: $57,151 - $61,000

The Department of Social Work Field Office is expanding to meet the growing academic needs of our students and community partners. We are seeking a Field Education Specialist to play a vital role in student development across the curriculum. This position offers a unique opportunity to serve as an Instructor of Record for students in the field while simultaneously shaping the internship placement process.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Serve as instructor of record for field education courses
  • Facilitate field seminar meetings for Master of Social Work (MSW) students
  • Serve as a field liaison among school, agency field instructors and students, using the field instructor's preferred method of contact (e.g., in person or synchronous virtual meeting platform)
  • Assist Director and Associate Director of Field Education in securing and developing internship placements for in person and online students
  • Assist Director and Associate Director of Field Education to ensure that the field education program achieves and maintains CSWE and New York State professional and accreditation standards
  • Support the internship placement process alongside the Director and Associate Director of Field Education including securing, developing and certifying undergraduate and graduate social work internship placements
  • Assist with field education orientations and events for students and field instructors
  • Update and maintain field education website for the Department of Social Work
  • Support Field Advisory Council
  • Serve on community committees and task forces
  • Plan and coordinate field office events and meetings

Job Requirements:
  • Master of Social Work degree

Preferred:

  • At least two years' experience working in Social Work Field Education
