SUMMARY
While on a project, the Field Engineer reports to field level management, who has ultimate responsibility for both the quality of Haydon's deliverable and effective execution of project assignments. The Project Superintendent and Project Manager may delegate certain project management responsibilities to the Field Engineer, including day-to-day interaction with the Owner's designated representative as well as coordination of all internal activities performed by Haydon's staff.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Technical support for field operations
- RFI’s
- Quality Assurance/Quality Control
- Quantity Tracking & Verification including performing work Takeoffs.
- Extensive regular contact with assigned crews and subcontractors
- Participates in Owner and Subcontractor Meetings
- Assisting with Layout
- Introduction to Subcontractor Management

QUALIFICATIONS The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
Education and/or Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Construction Engineering, Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or equivalent experience in heavy civil construction. This is an entry level position. Solid organizational skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office. Willingness to travel if required. Experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience considered. Understands and abides by all government processes and regulations.
Physical Demands
While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to type, handle, or feel and talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to stand; walk and sit. The employee is occasionally required to reach with hands and arms and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
