Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and motivated Field Leadership Instructor to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for training and mentoring field personnel, ensuring they develop the skills necessary to excel in challenging construction environments. Your leadership will help foster a safety-first culture while promoting operational excellence across our projects.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and deliver comprehensive training programs tailored to field leadership roles within the company
  • Mentor and coach field supervisors and crew leaders to enhance their technical skills and leadership capabilities
  • Conduct hands-on training sessions on safety protocols, environmental procedures, and operational best practices
  • Assess trainee progress through evaluations and provide constructive feedback for continuous improvement
  • Collaborate with project managers to identify training needs based on project requirements and team performance
  • Maintain detailed records of training activities, attendance, and competency assessments
  • Promote a safety-first mindset by reinforcing safety standards and encouraging proactive risk management
  • Travel to project sites (including out-of-town work)
  • Lead talks and skill refreshers
  • Coach foremen on daily planning and crew communication
  • Coach Superintendents on leadership and company culture
  • Reinforce safety standards and hazard awareness
  • Teach proper equipment care and jobsite discipline
  • Train crews on documentation and reporting expectations
  • Support storm response safety protocols (including chainsaw and power line awareness)
  • Observe workflow and suggest practical efficiency improvements

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in construction or site development environments, with a focus on leadership roles
  • Strong communication skills to effectively train and motivate diverse teams
  • Ability to develop engaging training content that is clear, detailed, and easy to understand
  • Experience working in university settings or with academic institutions is highly desirable
  • Demonstrated commitment to safety protocols and environmental considerations
  • Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail in record-keeping and reporting
  • Willingness to travel between project sites as needed
