Field Mechanic

Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Field Mechanic specializing in Heavy Equipment to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess extensive mechanical knowledge and experience in maintaining and repairing various types of heavy machinery, including excavators, cranes, and farm equipment. This role requires a strong commitment to safety and customer service, as well as the ability to troubleshoot and resolve mechanical issues efficiently.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance and repairs on heavy equipment, including excavators, cranes, and industrial machinery.
• Utilize hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment to troubleshoot mechanical issues.
• Interpret schematics and technical manuals to conduct repairs accurately.
• Conduct inspections on equipment to ensure optimal performance and safety compliance.
• Execute fabrication tasks as needed for custom repairs or modifications.
• Provide exceptional customer service by communicating effectively with clients regarding repairs and maintenance needs.
• Maintain a clean and organized work environment while adhering to safety protocols.
• Assist in heavy lifting and tire service as required during maintenance tasks.
• Document all repairs and maintenance activities accurately for record-keeping purposes.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a mechanic with a focus on heavy equipment repair; dealership experience is a plus.
• Strong mechanical knowledge of diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulics, suspensions, air brakes, alignment, HVAC systems, and automotive diagnostics.
• Familiarity with OEM parts and service procedures for various equipment brands such as Caterpillar.
• Experience in welding, soldering, assembly, and electrical troubleshooting is preferred.
• Ability to operate heavy machinery safely and effectively.
• Proficient in using hand tools and power tools for repairs.
• Excellent problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
• Strong communication skills with a focus on customer service.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $35.00 - $50.00 per hour
