Field Mechanic - Caterpillar Heavy Equipment

Overview
We are actively seeking Field Mechanic to join a dynamic team near Provo, UT. In this role, you will be instrumental in conducting inspections, PM services, and repairs on Caterpillar Heavy-Duty Equipment in a mine setting. Duties

• Diagnose and repair Caterpillar heavy equipment using OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) parts and detailed schematics.
• Perform routine maintenance such as oil changes, filter replacements, brake repairs, transmission servicing, and hydraulic system checks.
• Fabricate custom parts or modifications using hand tools, welding equipment, and power tools to meet specific operational needs.
• Test repaired equipment to ensure optimal performance and safety standards are met before returning machinery to service.
• Assist with heavy lifting tasks using cranes or forklift trucks to move large components safely.
• Maintain accurate records of service, parts used, and work performed.
• Adhere to safety guidelines, including handling hazardous materials and using protective equipment

Requirements

• Strong mechanical knowledge across diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulics, air brakes, and electrical components.
• Ability to use diagnostic tools and software to identify faults.
• Ability to operate heavy machinery including excavators, cranes, forklifts, and tractor-trailers safely and efficiently.
• Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, diagnostic equipment, and maintenance procedures for industrial equipment.
• Excellent problem-solving skills combined with customer service orientation to address client needs effectively.
• Physical ability to perform heavy lifting and work in various outdoor environments under different weather conditions.

Pay: $45.00 - $55.00 per hour
