Field Mechanic - Heavy Equipment

Job Description

We are looking for a skilled Mechanic to maintain and repair our trucks, trailers, and heavy construction equipment. This position plays a key role in keeping our equipment running safely and efficiently—both in the shop and out in the field when needed.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and repair company vehicles, trailers, and heavy equipment
• Diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical issues
• Perform routine maintenance and equipment inspections
• Respond to breakdowns and complete field repairs as needed
• Ensure all work meets safety, OSHA, and DOT requirements
• Order parts and maintain accurate service records
• Keep shop and work areas clean and organized

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred; technical certification preferred.
• 3+ years of experience as a diesel mechanic, fleet technician, or similar role.
• Strong knowledge of heavy equipment systems including diesel engines, hydraulics, brakes, and electrical systems.
• Valid driver’s license required (CDL preferred or willingness to obtain).
• Ability to read schematics and use diagnostic tools.
• Must pass a pre-employment drug test.
• Ability to work independently and prioritize multiple tasks.
• Physical ability to lift 50+ lbs and perform repairs in varied weather conditions.

Additional Information

• Work is performed in both indoor shop environments and outdoor field settings.
• May require overtime, weekend, or on-call availability depending on job demands.

Pay: $30.00 - $34.00 per hour
