We are seeking a Field Project Manager who oversees all phases of fiber deployment projects, ensuring seamless coordination between field teams, customers, and internal partners. This role manages day‑to‑day field operations, drives operational excellence, and proactively resolves issues to keep projects on schedule. The Field PM works closely with leadership to align field execution with strategic goals and performance targets for the Fiber Services division.
Responsibilities
Coordinate with the Construction Inspections Services Manager to ensure adequate staffing, equipment, and vehicles are available to meet customer demand.
Collaborate with customers to define project scope and ensure alignment with expected timelines.
Evaluate incoming fiber projects to develop detailed work plans and identify required resources, including labor, materials, and equipment.
Develop, maintain, and monitor project schedules, assigning work to CCI Field Supervisors and subcontractors to ensure on‑time completion.
Coordinate with CCI Field Supervisors and subcontractors to confirm understanding of work assignments, expectations, and deadlines.
Provide regular project status updates, timelines, and key performance metrics to customers and internal leadership.
Facilitate and oversee subcontractor performance to ensure compliance with project requirements.
Provide quality control (QC) support for customer deliverables and project closeout items.
Assume full ownership of assigned projects, including scope, schedule, quality, and execution.
Define project success criteria and communicate expectations to all stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.
Perform other related duties assigned by management.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Construction Technology or similar field of study preferred.
3 years of technical experience in OSP or field construction coordination/project management.
Project Management Professional (PMP) certification preferred.
Advanced understanding of fiber design with the ability to read, interpret, and apply fiber documentation.
Knowledge of DOT permitting requirements.
Experience with utility coordination and right‑of‑way (ROW) requirements.
Working knowledge of industry standards (e.g., NESC, NEC, OSHA safety regulations) preferred.
OSHA 30 Certification preferred.
Familiarity with fiber placement methods, splicing concepts, and testing fundamentals (OTDR, power meter basics) preferred.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, SharePoint, project management tools, and various web‑based applications.
Ability to understand project profitability and identify changes needed to improve financial performance.
Understanding of fiber optic network architecture, including backbone, distribution, and access networks.
Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, fiber route maps, and engineering prints.
Strong professional communication skills, including exceptional written and verbal abilities.
Proven ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple projects, and consistently meet deadlines.
Self‑starter capable of making sound decisions, multitasking effectively, and working independently with minimal supervision.
Highly organized with the ability to perform confidently in a high‑pressure, fast‑paced environment.
Demonstrated ability to handle customer issues and concerns promptly and professionally.
Strong documentation skills, including daily reports, production tracking, and project close‑out packages.
Ability to work in a fast‑paced, field‑driven environment with shifting priorities and deadlines.
Willingness to learn new product lines and technologies in support of departmental goals and evolving business needs.

Shift is Monday-Friday between the hours of 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. CST but must be able to work outside normal business hours when required.
Additional Information:
Regular field visits or off-site meetings with both CCI staff and customers.
Must be willing to travel up to 100%; may include overnight stays on a weekly basis dependent on candidate location and region. If further travel is required, this could consist of 10 days on and 4-5 days off.
Must have a valid driver’s license and a good driving record.
