Field Representative – Northeast Iowa

North Star Mutual Insurance Company is looking for an individual to adjust property and casualty claims, market our products to independent agencies, and complete underwriting inspections. Work is primarily in the assigned territory in Northeast Iowa, but may include work outside the territory to assist with a localized catastrophe situation. In order to efficiently and effectively perform the position, it is important to have the staff member located in the territory assigned of Worth, Mitchell, Howard, Winneshiek, Allamakee, Cerro Gordo, Floyd, Chickasaw, Franklin, Butler, Bremer, Fayette, Clayton, Hardin, Grundy, Black Hawk, Buchanan, Delaware, Dubuque, Marshall, Tama, Benton, Linn, Jones, or Jackson County.

Applicants must be capable of following direction, assist other staff members, be a self-starter, and able to think and work on their own. Have the ability to document and manage first and third-party claim files in compliance with state law and company policy, conduct recorded statements, negotiate settlements, estimate damages, and prepare detailed reports all fall within this job description.

As a representative of the company, this position requires a person to appear and conduct them self professionally while maintaining rapport with our policy holders and Agent partners and possess excellent interpersonal verbal and written communication abilities.

Preference for this position will be given to those with great interpersonal skills and basic knowledge of construction, farm, and technology. The duties include physically demanding activities (including climbing) and travel when necessary outside of the assigned territory.

While a variety of factors, including but not limited to job related knowledge, skillset, level of education and/or experience will be taken into consideration, it is anticipated this position will start at $60,000.00 per year. This role may be eligible for a merit increase annually and is eligible for our profit-sharing bonus plan.

Starting Range $60,000 to $65,0000 annually
