About the Role:

The Field Research Technician supports Gross-Wen Technologies’ research and development efforts through hands-on execution of field-based sampling, pilot system operation, and applied experiments at local, outdoor, and partner sites. This role is responsible for collecting high-quality field data, operating and maintaining pilot-scale biological systems, and ensuring samples and measurements are gathered accurately and consistently according to established protocols.

The Field Research Technician serves as a critical link between field operations and laboratory research by preparing and transporting samples, maintaining detailed field records, and supporting the continuity and uptime of pilot systems. Through disciplined execution, accurate documentation, and adherence to protocols, this role contributes reliable operational data and field insights that support research analysis, reporting, and decision-making.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Perform all aspects of field sampling: water chemistry, biomass sampling, flow measurements
  • Operate and maintain pilot-scale RAB or biological systems
  • Run on-site assays and Collect readings (pH, temp, DO, flow rates, etc.)
  • Prepare and transport samples to the lab
  • Maintain Pilot equipment (pump changes, belt adjustments, cleaning)
  • Execute experiments at outdoor or partner sites following protocols
  • Maintain field notebooks and data integrity
  • Prepare regular pilot reports

Travel Requirement is up to 50%

Pay: $40,000.00 - $60,000.00 per year
