The Field Service Engineer's (FSE) primary role is to perform services on customer sites: installation supervision, commissioning, preventive & corrective maintenance, testing, and modification of Gutor UPS systems and batteries.

The FSE works on both, on- and offshore sites, nuclear and is in direct contact with the customer. Thus, the FSE is the connection between the customer and Gutor’s technical and commercial Customer Service teams.

The FSE is responsible for project delivery and field activities on customer installed base. Dedicated to field activities on customer-installed base and project delivery.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

  • Executing technical tasks following notification, dedicated to asset management, offer and project and engineering.
  • Performing installation supervision and commissioning of Gutor systems including the batteries
  • Performing preventive and corrective maintenance for Gutor UPS equipment including batteries
  • Solving UPS problems at customers’ sites and providing reports on these issues
  • Responsible for identifying and reporting failure modes encountered in the field, as well as for determining the cause of these failures
  • Identifying and correcting more complex problems associated with start-up
  • Training customers on equipment operation and maintenance of Gutor systems
  • Interacting with customers by phone or face to face
  • Representing Gutor in dealing with customer concerns
  • Promoting proactively Gutor services & products, including contracts, spare parts, preventive maintenance, modifications, digital services, etc.
  • Identify new opportunities while attending customer sites to promote the Services growth.
  • Developing on-going relationships with customers to secure future business
  • Researching, evaluating, and recommending new products or equipment upgrades that will meet customer needs
  • Keeping databases updated with completed reports & documents
  • In charge for the safety onsite, making sure that nobody & no properties are endangered
  • Knowledge transfer within the Services Field domain with a coordination role
  • May resolve/troubleshoot implementation problems and/or train customers on the features of the equipment they have purchased
  • Recommend product upgrades, spare parts, and complementary solutions during service visits
  • Promote Service Contracts and Extended Warranties
  • Build strong customer relationships by providing technical expertise and demonstrating the value of our solutions.
  • Educate customers on New technologies and enhancements during routine service interactions.
  • Capture customer feedback and competitor insights to help refine sales strategies.
  • Share leads and opportunities identified during service calls.

Knowledge And Skills – Required

  • At least 3 years experience in Field Service Engineering work focused on providing technical advice to customers including commissioning, installing, and testing of products/equipment
  • General working experience Field Service Engineering work
  • Strong knowledge of electronic theory to component level / electro-technical education
  • Knowledge/experience in sales and building strong customer relationships
  • Good written & verbal communication skills in English, ability to have technical conversations with the customer
  • Cross-cultural knowledge & ability to adapt
  • Good computer skills
  • Willingness to travel nationally & internationally
