Field Service Engineer (Iceland)

Are you ready to work hands-on with advanced food processing technology?
JBT Marel is looking for a Field Service Engineer – Fish to join our service team in Iceland. This role offers a unique opportunity to work directly with customers, providing technical service and support for Marel equipment both locally and internationally.
The position can be based in Akureyri or Dalvík and involves regular travel. You’ll be part of a skilled, close-knit service team that plays a critical role in keeping our customers’ operations running safely and efficiently.
What you’ll be doing
- Provide technical service and support to JBT Marel customers in Iceland and abroad
- Perform preventive maintenance through regular customer visits
- Advise customers on the correct operation and maintenance of JBT Marel equipment
- Install, troubleshoot, diagnose faults, and repair technical equipment
- Prepare service reports and contribute to training and documentation materials
- Deliver training to customers and fellow JBT Marel employees
- Support continuous improvement in service quality and customer satisfaction
About you
You’re hands-on, reliable, and customer-focused, with the confidence to work independently in the field. You communicate clearly, take pride in your work, and enjoy solving technical problems in real-world environments.
You’ll bring:

- Independence, punctuality, and a structured way of working
- Good communication skills and the ability to explain technical issues clearly
- Willingness to travel domestically and internationally
- A proactive and solution-oriented attitude
Experience & Education
- Background as an engineer, mechanic, or electrician
- Experience with industrial or automated systems (food industry experience is an advantage)
- Software experience is an advantage
- Experience working in a technical service or field-based role is beneficial
- Fluency in Icelandic and English, both written and spoken
