Position Overview:

Join our dynamic team as a Field Service Engineer, working on cutting-edge diesel and electric
locomotives, passenger coaches, and full train sets that connect cities across North America. You'll be part of an experienced team in an exciting environment, collaborating closely with customers, Siemens Mobility departments worldwide, and our on-site Field Service Teams. Your main goal will be to ensure high customer satisfaction and deliver reliable products.
Based at our Field Service Location in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, you'll immerse yourself in learning and understanding the equipment and our customers' needs. You'll start with hands-on experience and gradually transition to resolving reliability issues and addressing customer concerns.

What your day-to-day will look like:

  • Support commissioning and warranty activities for Siemens electric and diesel locomotives and passenger trains.
  • Adhere to company and industry safety rules, practices, and procedures.
  • Embrace hands-on learning, focusing on equipment training during the first 1–2 years.
  • Read and interpret information to identify and troubleshoot root causes of equipment failures.
  • Diagnose electrical malfunctions and perform electrical and mechanical repairs using technical drawings and manuals.
  • Document failures, part exchanges, and implement Field Modifications (FMIs) to improve product quality.
  • Collaborate with Siemens Engineering and work with vendors to analyze failures and report findings to the end customer.
  • Drive continuous improvement by implementing FMIs and supporting engineering initiatives.

To thrive in this role, you have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical/mechanical engineering or a related field.
  • Prior experience within Engineering field is required. Education beyond requirements will be considered in lieu of experience.
  • Strong ability to read electrical schematics.
  • Willingness to work in the field on equipment.
  • Some travel required on a regular basis
  • Motivation to work across multiple systems and develop core competencies beyond engineering field of study.
  • Eagerness to learn new software programs in a continuously evolving environment.

The base salary range for this position in Pennsylvania is $82,212.00- $110,976.00. The salary may be higher or lower depending on the budget and the candidate's experience, knowledge, skills, and qualifications.
