Perry Baromedical is a small business located in Riviera Beach, FL. We are professional, agile, innovative and our goal is to Is to provide an energetic work environment that allows the Perry team to design and build the highest quality FDA approved Hyperbaric chambers possible.
The position requires the field service technician to train for ~1-3 months at Perry’s factory in Palm Beach county, Florida. The position will then be permanently remote-based. Beyond the initial training period, the position requires extensive and consistent travel.
The services to be performed in this role include:
- Annual preventive maintenance and acrylic design life extension inspections on Perry and other manufacturer’s hyperbaric chamber equipment.
- Equipment unloading, moving, pick-up, installation and HBO operator & basic maintenance training on-site at client’s locations.
- Remote troubleshooting (via telephone and email), as well as regular and emergency repair or replacement part services on-site as required.
- Completion and submission of documentation, including template reports which require customer acceptance and signature for regulatory compliance purposes.
- Coordination with Perry Baromedical customer service, material management, shipping and finance departments to ensure advanced shipment of necessary replacement parts for planned as well as emergency service and other field services to be performed. This includes obtaining quotations for parts and services to be performed and obtaining client acceptance and helping to process payments on occasion.
Field technician is required to have the following skills and experience:
- Analyze and troubleshoot Hyperbaric equipment to identify and resolve issues.
- Perform maintenance and repairs on machinery, including mechanical, electrical, and electronic components.
- Use precision measuring instruments to ensure accuracy of repairs and adjustments.
- Install, test, and calibrate new equipment.
- Perform routine Annual Preventive Maintenance in accordance with FDA, ASME and other regulatory guidelines.
- Provide technical support to customers and assist with equipment operation and maintenance training.
- Maintain accurate records of service calls, repairs, and parts used.
- Collaborate with other technicians and departments to ensure efficient service delivery.
- Positive attitude with an open mind to learning and a teamwork approach to problem solving.
- Good communication, discipline, and interpersonal skills to interface directly with customers via telephone and in person with a view to superior customer satisfaction and professionalism.
- Excellent mechanical aptitude, with a background in capital equipment repair or maintenance. Basic understanding of pneumatics and electronic controls is beneficial. Ideal candidate will have experience with medical devices and a service and support background.
- Ability to manage time constraints and maintain professionalism in stress environments.
- Familiarity with basic software tools including Microsoft Office suite and Adobe programs. You will be requested to utilize a smartphone and/or tablet computer for constant communication, and should be familiar with basic use of these devices including frequently used applications.
- This position requires planning, scheduling with customers, and execution of travel to perform on-site activities, including airfare, hotel, rental car and equipment, purchase and carrying of materials, including tools, parts and consumables.
- Experience with ISO 13485 or similar quality management system and good manufacturing practices is an advantage.
- Language Requirement: Fluency in English is mandatory. Fluency in additional languages is always beneficial but not required.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
- Field service technician will have remote, but direct supervision from the Perry service director. This role will receive work assignments from the Service Coordinator and will report under the Service Director.
- Most of the service work will occur in hospital and medical clinics. A professional demeanor and appearance is important.
- Perry Baromedical is a drug free workplace and as such employees are required to pass a routine drug screening prior to start of employment. They may also be required to submit to a drug screening upon request by management or in response to a USA FDA audit requirement.
