Field Service Technician (Data Center Support)

Translucent Services, LLC is seeking several experienced and motivated Field Service Technicians to join our team in Santa Clara, CA for a 6 month contract supporting our government customer

On-site technicians will adhere to Prime-provided step-by-step instructions, processes, and policies to perform the installation and configuration of operating systems and applications. Supported platforms and equipment include HPE, SuperMicro, and Dell servers, Cisco, Windows, EMC, Linux, and Kubernetes environments, and appliances from NetApp, EMC PowerMax, Dell ECS, etc.

SECURITY CLEARANCE REQUIRED: Active TS/SCI U.S. Security Clearance is required*

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the installation, configuration, testing, and maintenance of HPE, SuperMicro and Dell Servers. Appliances from NetApp, EMC PowerMax, Dell ECS, etc

Operating System Installs

• Install OS using Prime’s custom method following a documented install process for both OS and layered components
• Flavors: Windows Server, Windows, RHEL, and VMware
• Installations will be carried out on both bare metal and virtual machine environments.

Application installation and configurations

• Provide hands-on installation and configuration of Prime applications following Prime’s documented procedures (guidance from Prime BB)
• Provide hands on installation and configuration of various EDA tools
• Help support a standalone FlexLM license server
• Help configure environment setup scripts for EDA tools
• Help with data transfer activities

Equipment Installation

• Installing servers and appliances into prebuild and/or Manufacturing Server Room (MSR)

Other Responsibilities:

• Boxing/unboxing, racking/unracking, power cable installations, labeling and re-labeling
• Network cable installations and moves, fiber cables installs and moves, for servers, desktops and appliances
• Workstation Installs
• Install and configure workstation setups (Examples: computer, monitor, keyboard, desks, etc.)

Required Qualifications

• Clearance: Must possess an Active TS/SCI U.S. Security Clearance.
• Experience: Minimum of 3-7 years of progressive experience installing equipment and operating systems

Technical Expertise:

• Demonstrated experience with the following one or more of the following hardware and software systems: HPE, SuperMicro, and Dell servers, Cisco, Windows, EMC, Linux, and Kubernetes environments, and appliances from NetApp, EMC PowerMax, Dell ECS, etc.
• Strong networking knowledge.
• Security+ Certification or other networking certifications desirable
• Soft Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a proven ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.

Hours: 8am to 5pm PST

Duration: This is a 6 month contract

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $100,000.00 - $150,000.00 per year
