The Field Service Technician I is an entry-level position designed to support the Shared Services department in delivering high-quality utility services. This role focuses on learning and performing foundational tasks such as line locates, identifying inflow and infiltration (I&I), and supporting the Tap to Builder program. This technician will work under the support and mentorship of Level II and Level III technicians to gain hands-on experience and develop technical skills necessary for growth in the field.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Assist with utility line locates with support of Level II and III technicians

Support inspections for inflow and infiltration (I&I) in the sewer system

Help identify and report builder-related damages for repair

Carryout small repairs on clean out/stub ups.
- Assist with register replacements in coordination with Customer Service

Communicate clearly with internal teams to ensure accurate work order creation and tracking

Complete digital work orders and documentation using company software and mobile devices

Maintain tools, equipment, and company vehicles in a clean and organized condition
Key Performance Indicators
Education & Experience

High School Diploma or equivalent.

Less than 1 year of relevant experience.

Professionalism in dealing with customers in the field.

Prefer some related utility experience.
Language/Math/Reasoning Ability

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
Computer Skills

Proficient computer skills, including electronic mail, and work order systems.
- Ability to learn and use Paycom software for timekeeping.
