Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site role for an entry level Field Service Technician/Engineer. Our company is based in New Hampshire, with remote employees working out of NH, MT, TX, GA. This position is remote with heavy travel for field work required ~75%. When working from home, candidates will be expected to furnish service reports, prep logistics for upcoming site work, and respond to customer requests.
In this role, the candidate will be responsible for performing equipment services, including troubleshooting, repairs, and maintenance on a variety of steam turbines, generators, compressors, pumps, and their associated systems. Daily tasks will include conducting inspections, ensuring compliance with safety regulations, maintaining service records, and providing excellent technical support to our customers. The position will involve collaborating with team members and management to resolve complex issues efficiently.
Candidate requirements
· Associates degree in relevant area of study
· Ability to learn on the job
· Excellent communication skills, phone, email, teams etc...
· Proficiency in Microsoft suite, word, excel, outlook
· Demonstratable mechanical aptitude and proficiency with basic hand tools
· Basic understanding of precision measurement tools, calipers, dial indicator, inside/outside mic
· Basic understanding of electrical equipment, instrumentation, and multimeter function.
· Attention to detail
· Ability to document and organize work so others can understand and locate
· Problem solving and critical thinking
· Basic understanding of process and instrumentation diagrams, fluid flows, pressures, and temperatures.
· Independent worker and self-starter
· Basic technical writing experience
· Ability and desire to take on responsibilities and own through completion
· Valid driver's license and willingness to travel
Candidate Preferences
· BS degree in relevant area of study
· Hands on experience with steam systems and/or steam turbines
· Customer facing professional communication experience
· Hands on experience working with rotating industrial equipment
· Proficient technical skills in mechanical repairs, diagnostics, and preventative maintenance.
· Familiarity with control systems, troubleshooting, and technical support.
· Knowledge of safety standards and compliance practices.
· Relevant certifications or technical training to include OSHA, MSHA, Laser Alignment, Vibration Analyst, or others is a plus
Pay: $28.00 - $40.00 per hour
