Field Sign Technician (CDL Preferred)

The Sign Depot is seeking a highly motivated Field Sign Technician to join our growing team. This position is much more than simply installing signs. Every project presents unique challenges that require problem-solving, mechanical aptitude, construction skills, and the ability to learn new equipment and techniques.

We are looking for individuals who enjoy working with their hands, operating equipment, troubleshooting problems, and taking pride in completing high-quality projects.

A Class A CDL is highly preferred and will be considered a significant advantage.

What You'll Do

• Install interior and exterior signs of all types
• Operate aerial lifts, bucket trucks, cranes, forklifts, and other equipment
• Perform site surveys and verify installation conditions
• Read and interpret drawings, specifications, and work orders
• Assist with fabrication and assembly of signs prior to installation
• Install channel letters, monuments, post and panel signs, wall signs, vinyl graphics, banners, and digital displays
• Safely transport signs, materials, and equipment to job sites
• Troubleshoot installation challenges and develop practical solutions in the field
• Work with electrical and lighting components when required
• Maintain company vehicles, tools, and equipment
• Represent The Sign Depot professionally while interacting with customers

The ideal candidate is naturally curious and enjoys figuring out how things work. We are less concerned about previous sign industry experience than we are about your ability to learn, solve problems, and adapt to new situations.

Required Qualifications

• Valid driver's license
• Clean driving record
• Ability to lift 75+ pounds
• Comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions
• Ability to work from ladders, lifts, scaffolding, and elevated platforms
• Strong problem-solving skills
• Ability to read measurements accurately
• Dependable attendance and strong work ethic
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Professional appearance and customer-service mindset

Preferred Qualifications

• Class A CDL License
• Experience operating bucket trucks
• Crane operation experience
• Forklift certification

Compensation

Compensation is based on experience, licensing, and skill level.
