Job Overview
As a Field Supervisor in our Landscape Construction division at ETCH Outdoor Living, based in our Huxley, IA branch, you are responsible for leading from the front. This is not a clipboard role — it’s a production-first position where you work shoulder-to-shoulder with crews, supporting execution while driving quality, efficiency, and safety across job sites.
You are expected to proactively manage field operations, provide coaching and direction to crew leaders, and ensure work is completed on time, on budget, and to ETCH standards — all while actively participating in production.
Core Responsibilities:
- Lead and work alongside crews daily — assist in physical tasks as needed to keep projects on track.
- Deploy teams each morning by 7:00 a.m. with tools, materials, and job info.
- Conduct jobsite quality checks and correct issues on the spot.
- Keep Aspire updated with time tracking, notes, and job completion data.
- Enforce SOPs for jobsite setup, equipment use, and daily close-out routines.
- Participate in hands-on training of new crew members and leaders.
- Support cross-functional field needs including Lawn, Enhancements, and Landscape.
As a Field Supervisor, you have decision-making power in:
- Re-deploying labor and prioritizing task sequences

- Escalating personnel, client, or safety issues
You are accountable for:
- How work gets done in the field — speed, quality, and crew morale

- Daily documentation and time tracking in Aspire
- The FS serves as the operational bridge between the Branch Manager, CRM team, and field crews - driving production performance, training, accountability and culture in the field.
- Success in this role is measured by production efficiency, labor performance, safety compliance, employee retention and overall gross margin performance of the landscape division.
