Field Traffic and Detour Engineer

· Review and monitor the implementation of Temporary Traffic Management Plans (TTMPs) and detour plans prepared by contractors.

· Conduct on-site inspections to ensure traffic control devices, signage, and barriers are correctly installed and maintained.

· Verify that all traffic diversions, lane closures, and work zone arrangements are safe, clear, and aligned with approved plans and authority standards.

· Coordinate with local traffic authorities, contractors, and police to manage road closures, signal modifications, and public notifications.

· Monitor the impact of construction activities on traffic flow and provide recommendations to minimize disruptions and enhance road user safety.

· Ensure compliance with work zone safety regulations, visibility standards, and pedestrian routing requirements.

· Document site findings, prepare inspection reports, and follow up on non-compliance issues.

· Support in updating and reviewing TMPs during different project phases or upon changes in construction staging.

· Qualifications:

· Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Transportation Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related field.

· Experience working for or with engineering consultancy firms (not contractors) is required.

· Familiarity with traffic control manuals, safety guidelines, and relevant authority regulations.

· Ability to read and interpret road plans, detour layouts, and traffic signal drawings.
