Job Summary
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Fifth Grade Math Teacher to inspire young learners and foster a love for mathematics. In this role, you will create engaging lesson plans, implement effective teaching strategies, and support students’ academic growth in a dynamic classroom environment. Duties
- Develop and deliver comprehensive math lessons aligned with curriculum standards, incorporating innovative teaching methods and learning technology to enhance understanding.
- Design and implement lesson plans that cater to diverse learning styles, including those with special education needs or requiring early intervention support.
- Assess student progress regularly through formative and summative evaluations, including standardized testing preparation and individualized assessments.
- Manage classroom behavior effectively using positive behavior management techniques to create a safe, respectful, and productive learning environment.
- Collaborate with colleagues on curriculum development.
- Mentor and support students individually or in small groups, providing tutoring and additional assistance as needed to ensure mastery of math concepts.
- Communicate regularly with parents and guardians about student progress, classroom activities, and ways to support learning at home.
Skills
- Proven classroom management skills with the ability to engage students actively in learning activities.
- Strong writing skills for lesson planning, report writing, and effective communication with parents and staff.
- Expertise in curriculum development across elementary subjects including math, literacy education, science, and social studies.
- Experience working with children with autism or other special needs; familiarity with early childhood education principles and early intervention strategies.
- Proficiency in learning technology tools that facilitate interactive lessons and student assessments.
- Knowledge of standardized testing procedures and best practices for tutoring students preparing for assessments.
