Duties
- Develop and implement comprehensive lesson plans aligned with curriculum standards, including literacy education, math, science, and social studies.
- Foster a positive classroom atmosphere through effective classroom management and behavior management strategies.
- Incorporate learning technology and innovative teaching methods to enhance student engagement and understanding.
- Assess student progress regularly through formative and standardized testing, providing tailored tutoring and support as needed.
- Collaborate with colleagues on curriculum development, early childhood education strategies, and special education accommodations.
- Mentor students individually or in small groups, including those with autism or requiring early intervention services.
- Maintain accurate records of student performance, attendance, and behavioral incidents; prepare reports for education administration.
- Support students’ social-emotional development by implementing inclusive practices that promote respect, empathy, and collaboration.
- Engage with parents and guardians through regular communication to discuss student progress and behavioral concerns.
- Participate in school events, staff meetings, professional development sessions, and library services initiatives.
Skills
- Proven classroom experience with elementary students, especially in fifth grade or similar levels.
- Strong knowledge of childhood development principles and early childhood education best practices.
- Excellent communication skills for working effectively with students, parents, colleagues, and administrators.
- Proficiency in curriculum development, lesson planning, literacy education, math instruction, and standardized testing preparation.
- Ability to utilize learning technology tools to create interactive lessons that cater to diverse learning styles.
- Experience in special education settings or working with children with autism; familiarity with behavior management techniques.
- Skilled in tutoring students needing additional support or intervention; adept at mentoring young learners.
- Knowledge of Montessori methods or private school teaching environments is a plus.
- Strong organizational skills for managing classroom activities, childcare responsibilities, and administrative tasks.

Pay: $35,000.00 - $50,000.00 per year
