FILLING CERTIFIED PHARMACY TECHNICIAN - 1st SHIFT

Position Summary

1st SHIFT 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM MUST BE REGISTERED OHIO PHARMACY TECHNICIAN

The Compounding Filling Technician supports the pharmacy operations by assisting in the accurate preparation, labeling, verification, and packaging of compounded medications. This role is responsible for printing and applying prescription labels, verifying vial accuracy, and preparing shipments including UPS billing labels. The technician ensures all work is completed in compliance with pharmacy policies, USP standards, and all applicable federal and state regulations while maintaining efficiency and accuracy in a high-volume compounding environment.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Compounding & Filling Support

· Assist in the preparation and filling of compounded medications under pharmacist supervision.

· Ensure correct vial selection, cleanliness, and readiness for filling.

· Maintain organization and workflow within the filling and staging areas.

· Print prescription labels accurately from the pharmacy system.

· Apply labels to vials neatly and correctly, ensuring compliance with regulatory and company standards.

· Perform vial checks to confirm:

· Correct drug and strength

· Correct patient information

· Accurate labeling and packaging

· Escalate discrepancies immediately to the pharmacist or supervisor.

Billing & Shipping Preparation

· Generate and print UPS shipping labels and associated billing documentation.

· Ensure all shipments are matched correctly to patient orders.

· Prepare packages in accordance with shipping SOPs, including proper documentation and labeling.

· Coordinate with shipping and billing teams to ensure timely order fulfillment.

Operational Support

· Maintain accurate records in the pharmacy system related to labeling and shipping.

· Assist with inventory staging of vials, labels, and packaging supplies.

· Maintain a clean, organized, and compliant workspace in accordance with USP and pharmacy standards.

· Prioritize workflow to meet daily production and shipping deadlines.

· Adhere to all federal, state, and local pharmacy laws and regulations.

· Maintain confidentiality of patient information (HIPAA compliance).

· Participate in inspections and audits as required.

· Report any product discrepancies or incidents per company policy.

· Uphold pharmacy standards of professionalism, integrity, and teamwork

· Perform additional duties as assigned by management.

Education and/or Training

  • High school diploma or GED required.

Licenses/Certifications

  • Active Pharmacy Technician registration/license.

Specialized Skills

  • Experience in compounding or pharmacy operations preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in labeling and verification.
  • Familiarity with pharmacy systems (e.g., PioneerRx preferred).
  • Ability to manage high-volume workflow with efficiency.

Technical Skills

  • Proficiency with computers, label printers, and pharmacy systems.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.

PHYSICAL Requirements

1. Physical Activities:

a. Ability to continuously stand or sit for extended periods

b. Ability to bend or squat occasionally

c. Ability to lift up to 30 pounds occasionally

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $22.00 - $25.00 per hour
