Filling Department Associate

Overview

We are looking for a 30+ hr/week Filling Department Associate for our 16,000 sq. ft. natural/organic skincare and haircare manufacturing facility in Asheville, NC. Flexible work hours available within our full-time hours (Monday-Thursday 9:00am – 6:00pm ish).

In this energetic role, you will be responsible for ensuring the accurate and efficient filling of products, maintaining high standards of quality control, and supporting the overall production process. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment where attention to detail, mechanical aptitude, and teamwork are essential.

Duties

• Assist with the setup, breakdown, and cleaning of filling machinery.
• Perform quality control checks on filled products to verify accuracy, consistency, and compliance with specifications
• Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of the work area
• Support packaging processes by assembling and sealing finished goods for shipment
• Conduct basic math calculations for measurements, quantities, and batch records during production runs
• Filling by hand
• Washing dishes and scrubbing large vats
• Prepping packaging for filling
• Apply tamper evident heat seals
• Will be trained to operate filling, expiration dating, cap induction, and shrink wrap machines
• Maintain constant attention to quality control while performing repetitive tasks
• Adapt to a dynamic work environment with frequently changing priorities
• Flexibility to assist other departments as needed

Experience

• Basic math skills necessary for measurements, calculations, and record keeping
• Keen eye for catching errors (we sell high-end products to clients who expect near perfection and we pride ourselves on our track record of quality assurance)
• Attention to detail throughout monotonous tasks
• Strong aptitude and willingness to learn new systems and processes quickly
• Ability to work independently and with limited supervision
• Ability to think ahead and plan time efficiently
• Ability to work quickly and methodically
• Computer proficiency required
• Mechanical knowledge helpful for troubleshooting equipment issues and performing routine maintenance

Physical requirements:

• Lift boxes/vats up to 55 lbs.
• Ability to sit and stand for long periods of time
• Hours of repetitive movements
• Ability to work in occasionally noisy environments
• Hair coverings, nitrile gloves and clean clothing must be worn
• Must be comfortable working with power tools
• Forklift experience a plus
