Finance Accountant- short-term

We are currently looking for a short-term Accountant to provide coverage while our current Accountant is out on maternity leave. The position would ideally start near the end of June.

We would strongly prefer a candidate who is able to speak Chinese due to communication and coordination needs with our global teams This role will focus on Accounts Payable, Expense Management, and Inventory Accounting, along with other related finance functions. The ideal candidate will ensure accurate and timely financial processing, maintain compliance with internal policies and external regulations, and support the accuracy of inventory-related financial records.
Responsibilities

Accounts Payable (AP)

• Process vendor invoices, credit memos, and payment requests accurately and on time.
• Match invoices to purchase orders, contracts, and delivery receipts.
• Maintain accurate AP records and ensure proper documentation for audit purposes.
• Monitor AP aging reports and follow up on outstanding balances or disputes.

Expense Management

• Review and verify employee expense reports for accuracy, policy compliance, and proper approval.
• Ensure expenses are recorded in the correct accounts and periods.
• Communicate with employees to resolve discrepancies or provide policy guidance.

Inventory Accounting

• Record and reconcile inventory transactions, including receipts, transfers, adjustments, and disposals.
• Collaborate with warehouse, procurement, and operations teams to ensure inventory records are accurate.
• Support periodic and year-end physical inventory counts, investigating and resolving variances.
• Monitor and report on inventory valuation, slow-moving stock, and obsolescence provisions.

Participate in process improvement initiatives to increase efficiency and accuracy in finance operations. Provide backup support for other finance team members as needed.

Pay: From $24.00 per hour
