SUMMARY:
The Accounts Receivable (AR) Accountant is responsible for providing high quality customer service and accounting support for the corporate accounting department in support of operating branches, as assigned. As part of the Corporate Accounting team, the AR Accountant handles customer accounting transactions and branch support.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:- Communicate and work effectively with employees, management, and customers.
- Serves as key accounting contact person for branch issues regarding receivables.
- Maintains and updates customer information in Agility.
- Enters transactions into the document storage system.
- Receives and enters customer payments and other miscellaneous entries.
- Works with and supports branch staff and/or credit department to research and resolve discrepancies between payments received from customers.
- Responsible for (daily) review of customer invoices to be billed (includes resolution of margin issues with branch management).
- Complete analysis for each branch of daily business and properly account for charge, credit card and cash transactions.
- Receive and process customer payments on a daily basis for assigned branches. This includes receiving in checks for each branch, scanning daily receipts, recording payments on customer accounts, verifying appropriate customer discounts were taken, and applying payments against correct customer invoices.
- Work with branch management and credit department on sales tax issues on invoices.
- Issue sales tax credits when tax exempt certificates received after customer has been invoiced.
- Responsible for month end work including assuring all billing is completed timely, customer payments are posted correctly, daily cash outs are finalized and completed, Receivable detail aging is completed and sent to Document Storage and monthly statements are processed and mailed.

CUSTOMER SERVICE & TECHNOLOGY INTERACTION:- Provide personalized customer service through direct, over the phone and/or in-person conversations.
- Communicate with managers, other employees, and customers.
- Maintain a professional and friendly demeanor in all interactions, both in-person and via technology.
- Handle customer feedback and complaints efficiently, ensuring customer satisfaction.
QUALIFICATIONS:- An Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting is preferred; 1-2 years of background, training and/or experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Must possess strong computer skills including keyboarding, data entry and experience with Microsoft Office products.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong customer service skills.
- Ability to work independently and support department and co-worker needs.
- Ability to do accurate, timely and detailed work.
- High integrity and the ability to maintain confidentiality.
- A valid driver’s license is required and a clean driving record is preferred.
- Ability to read, write and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
- Strong basic math skills which include the ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure.
