As we continue to expand our portfolio and strengthen our market presence, we are seeking an accomplished Finance Director to lead our finance function and play a pivotal role in shaping the company’s financial strategy and supporting sustainable growth.
Role Overview:
The Finance Director will provide overall financial leadership, governance, and strategic direction across the organization. Reporting to senior executive management, you will drive financial performance, capital efficiency, and disciplined investment decision-making across a diversified real estate portfolio.
You will oversee both development and operational real estate assets, ensuring strong financial control across project delivery, leasing operations, property management, and investment activities. This role requires a strong combination of strategic vision, technical finance expertise, and hands-on leadership within a complex real estate environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Financial Strategy & Leadership
- Lead financial planning, forecasting, and performance management across the business.
- Support executive leadership in evaluating investments, acquisitions, and development opportunities.
- Provide financial insights to drive profitability, capital efficiency, and long-term value creation.
Development & Asset Finance
- Oversee financial management of development projects from acquisition through completion and stabilization.
- Manage project budgets, cash flows, escrow accounts, and contractor/consultant payments.
- Monitor financial performance across leasing, property management, and retail assets.
Treasury & Funding
- Manage liquidity, cash flow planning, and banking relationships.
- Lead negotiations for project finance, banking facilities, refinancing, and restructuring.
Financial Planning & Analysis
- Lead budgeting, forecasting, and long-term financial planning.
- Develop financial models and feasibility studies for new developments and investments.
Commercial & Investment Support
- Review and support negotiation of key commercial contracts and agreements.
- Provide financial input into investment structuring and strategic decision-making.
Governance & Controls
- Ensure compliance with IFRS and internal control frameworks.
- Oversee audits, statutory reporting, and financial governance processes.
- Strengthen financial policies, systems, and controls across the organization.
Leadership & Team Development
- Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing finance team.
- Build strong finance capability across development and operational business units.
- Foster a culture of accountability, performance, and continuous improvement.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or Economics; professional qualification (CPA, ACCA, ACA, CMA) preferred.
- 15+ years of progressive finance experience, ideally within real estate development and asset management.
- Strong experience in development finance, including project cash flows, escrow structures, and contractor payment processes.
- Strong financial modelling, feasibility analysis, and investment evaluation skills.
- Experience across both development and operational real estate portfolios, including leasing, property management, and retail assets.
- Strong commercial acumen with experience in contract review and investment decision support.
