Daily Operations & Accounting
- Oversee daily financial activities for all international entities (Singapore, USA, and other regions)
- Manage bookkeeping, AR/AP, invoicing, payment processing, and bank reconciliations
- Handle daily postings of trading transactions, including import/export invoices, supplier bills, and cost
- Monitor cash flow, credit limits, and working capital requirements
- Maintain proper accounting ledgers and ensure accurate documentation of all trading-related expenses
- Ensure proper handling of multi-currency transactions and exchange rate updates
Financial Reporting & Compliance
- Prepare monthly and annual financial statements for each global entity
- Consolidate financial results across multi-entities with multi-currency reporting
- Ensure compliance with financial and tax regulations in Singapore, the USA, and other relevant jurisdictions
- File GST/VAT/Sales Tax returns and coordinate with external auditors and tax consultants
- Ensure internal controls are adhered to, especially for trading transactions and cross-border settlements
Trading-Specific Financial Duties
- Review and verify purchase contracts, sales contracts, LC documentation, and shipping documents
- Track landed costs, freight, customs duties, and allocate costs accurately to inventories
- Reconcile stock movements, shipments, and trading margins
- Assist in risk management related to FX, pricing, and credit exposures
Planning & Analysis
- Prepare budgets, forecasts, and financial analysis to support management
- Monitor KPIs such as trading margins, cost efficiencies, and cash cycles
- Identify financial risks and provide insights for performance improvement
Leadership & Coordination
- Liaise with banks, freight partners, brokers, and internal teams
- Manage and mentor junior finance staff (if applicable)
- Support implementation or improvement of ERP/accounting systems
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- Professional certification (ACCA, CPA, CA, CFA) is highly preferred
- Minimum 5 years of finance/accounting experience, ideally within an international trading or import/export company
- Experience managing multi-entity and multi-currency accounting
- Strong knowledge of IFRS; knowledge of US GAAP is an advantage
- Proficiency in accounting systems (Xero, QuickBooks, NetSuite, or similar)
- Excellent analytical, communication, and organizational skills
