Finance Manager

Muscat, Oman

Our client in retail apparel industry is looking to hire a Finance Manager for their company. The ideal candidate will ensure financial stability, implement strong internal controls, drive efficiency in operations, and provide accurate financial insights to support decision-making. This role requires a results-driven leader with expertise in retail and manufacturing finance, who can build a high-performing finance team aligned with the company’s long-term growth strategy.


Key Responsibilities:

1. Financial Leadership & Strategy

  • Restructure, lead, and strengthen the Finance Department to align with organizational goals.
  • Develop and implement financial policies, systems, and procedures to ensure effective financial management.
  • Provide strategic recommendations to the Chairman, CEO, and MD based on sound financial analysis.
  • Support long-term financial planning, capital allocation, and growth initiatives.


2. Financial Planning & Analysis

  • Prepare and manage annual budgets, forecasts, and variance analysis.
  • Conduct detailed financial analysis to monitor performance, identify risks, and recommend corrective measures.
  • Provide timely MIS reports and dashboards for management decision-making.


3. Accounting & Compliance

  • Oversee accounting operations including AP, AR, GL, payroll, and inventory accounting.
  • Ensure compliance with Omani tax laws, VAT regulations, statutory reporting, and IFRS standards.
  • Liaise with auditors, banks, and regulatory authorities.


4. Cash Flow & Treasury Management

  • Manage working capital effectively to ensure liquidity for operational and expansion needs.
  • Optimize cash flow, credit facilities, and banking relationships.
  • Implement treasury controls and monitor foreign currency exposures (especially for imports from Japan, Korea, and China).


5. Risk Management & Internal Controls

  • Establish robust internal controls across the finance and retail operations.
  • Mitigate risks related to financial reporting, fraud, or operational inefficiencies.
  • Implement ERP/financial systems for greater transparency and accuracy.


6. Team Development

  • Build, mentor, and lead a competent finance team.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and excellence.


Qualifications & Experience:

  • Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or Business Administration (MBA preferred).
  • Professional certification: ACCA / CPA / CMA / CFA (mandatory).
  • Minimum 10–12 years’ progressive experience , with at least 5 years in a leadership role in retail, apparel manufacturing, or FMCG sector.
  • Proven experience in restructuring and strengthening finance departments.
  • Strong knowledge of IFRS, VAT, and Omani statutory requirements.
  • Advanced ERP and MS Excel proficiency.
