The Finance Manager oversees all financial operations of the mithai production and export business, ensuring accurate accounting, strong financial planning, cost control, legal compliance, and smooth coordination between production, sales, procurement, and export departments. The role requires deep understanding of local tax laws, food manufacturing expenses, inventory costing, and international export documentation.
Key Responsibilities
1. Financial Accounting & Reporting
Maintain complete and accurate financial records for factory, retail, and export operations.
Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
Monitor cash flow, daily bank balances, receivables, and payables.
Ensure timely reconciliation of bank statements, supplier accounts, and export proceeds.
2. Compliance With Local Laws & Regulations
Ensure full compliance with FBR, SRB, SECP, Income Tax, Sales Tax, and Withholding Tax regulations.
Oversee monthly filing of:
Sales tax returns (FBR/SRB)
Income tax statements
Withholding statements
E-filing of suppliers and customer details
Make sure all invoices, GRNs, and payments comply with statutory requirements.
Keep updated with changes in taxation laws related to food manufacturing and exports.
Ensure proper documentation for external audits, government inquiries, and compliance checks.
3. Costing & Budget Management
Prepare cost sheets for mithai, halwa, biscuits, and export items.
Track cost of raw materials (milk, ghee, sugar, nuts), labor, packaging, utilities, and overheads.
Monitor variances between estimated vs actual production costs.
Prepare annual budgets and spending forecasts.
Implement cost-control measures to improve margins.
4. Inventory & Procurement Finance
Oversee stock audits and ensure accurate valuation of inventory (raw materials, WIP, finished goods).
Implement FIFO/FEFO costing methods for perishable items.
Monitor purchase orders, vendor payments, and approvals.
Coordinate with production to ensure optimum inventory levels.
5. Export Finance & Documentation
Manage export-related financial documentation, including:
Commercial invoices
Packing lists
Form-E
Bank negotiation documents
LC documentation (if applicable)
Track export receivables and ensure timely inward remittance under SBP guidelines.
Ensure compliance with international trade requirements for USA, UK, Australia, GCC, etc.
Support pricing strategy for export products based on costs, freight, duties, and market trends.
6. Payroll & HR Finance
Oversee salary sheets, attendance, overtime, and bonuses.
Ensure compliance with EOBI, SESSI, gratuity, and other statutory benefits.
Maintain employee financial records confidentially.
Process vendor and staff reimbursements.
7. Internal Controls & Audit
Implement strong internal controls for cash handling, procurement, inventory, and production.
Conduct internal audits of factory operations and stores.
Prepare documentation for external auditors and ensure audit completion on time.
Identify financial risks and implement preventive measures.
8. Banking & Treasury Management
Manage banking relationships and negotiate terms for facilities such as:
E - form
LC handling
Ensure timely deposit of taxes, vendor payments, and salaries.
9. Financial Strategy & Business Support
Provide analysis for new product launches, pricing changes, or export expansion.
Support management in investment decisions, factory expansion, machinery purchases, and new retail branches.
Prepare feasibility reports for new projects.
Offer insights on profitability across product categories and regions.
