Finance Manager – Seagrass Middle East

Role Overview

Reporting directly to the Managing Director, the Finance Manager will lead and oversee the financial function for our Middle East operations. The role is responsible for financial reporting, planning, compliance, and supporting business growth and legal structuring. You’ll manage a small finance team and partner closely with operations to ensure financial health across the region.

Scope of Responsibility

1. Financial Reporting & Control

• Deliver timely, accurate monthly financial reports (P&L, balance sheet – both individual & consolidated)
• Oversee month-end reconciliations, schedules, and key ledger accounts
• Analyze financial performance against budget/forecast and generate monthly scorecards
• Track and monitor financial KPIs (sales, gross profit, OPEX, CAPEX, labor costs, etc.)

2. Financial Planning & Analysis

• Lead annual budgeting process in collaboration with Operations
• Develop long-term financial models for growth, including sales, profitability, balance sheet, and cash flow
• Own short- and mid-term cash flow forecasting
• Prepare feasibility studies and ROI models for new restaurant projects
• Assist with funding plans and stakeholder presentations

3. Treasury, Compliance & Audit

• Monitor daily cash, sales reports, and bank reconciliations
• Review supplier accounts, payment cycles, intercompany settlements
• Oversee payroll review and accounting accuracy
• Lead external/statutory audits and ensure compliance with reporting standards
• Manage VAT filings, annual tax returns, and statutory deadlines
• Maintain compliance with internal policies and group management agreements

4. Legal, CAPEX & Asset Management

• Support MD with company structuring, licensing, shareholding, and authority filings
• Track CAPEX against project budgets and ensure accurate cost allocation
• Maintain integrity of fixed asset registers and classification
• Advise on financial implications of corporate commitments and obligations

5. Internal Controls & System Optimization

• Continuously enhance the financial control environment
• Implement automation and process improvements
• Optimize accounting systems, tools, and procedures

6. Finance Business Partnering

• Collaborate with Operations, HR, and other departments to foster financial understanding
• Provide strategic insights and reporting to support decision-making across the business

What We’re Looking For Skills & Experience

• 8+ years in accounting/finance, with at least 3 in a managerial role
• Degree in Accounting/Finance; CPA or equivalent preferred
• Experience in the hospitality or F&B sector is highly desirable
• Strong background in budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, and compliance
• Knowledge of UAE VAT and corporate tax regulations
