Key Responsibilities & Duties
- Job Costing & Profitability Analysis: Analyze costs (labor, materials, equipment) against estimates to ensure project margins are maximized.
- Financial Reporting & Closing: Lead month-end closing, prepare financial statements (P&L, balance sheet), and provide cash flow projections.
- Budgeting & Forecasting: Develop annual budgets and forecasts to guide strategic decisions and identify cost-saving opportunities.
- Accounts Receivable/Payable & Cash Flow: Manage invoicing, collections, and vendor payments to ensure positive cash flow.
- Internal Controls & Compliance: Enforce policies to maintain compliance with financial regulations and manage tax filings.
- Inventory & Asset Management: Analyze end-of-month inventory, fixed assets, and equipment utilization.
- Management Support: Partner with operations leaders to provide data-driven insights for bidding and project management.
Required Qualifications & Skills
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or Economics.
- Experience: 3-5+ years in a senior accounting or finance role, preferably in construction, landscaping, or contracting.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage, SAP) and advanced Excel skills.
- Core Competencies: Strong analytical, communication, and leadership skills to manage accounting staff.
- Certifications: CPA or CMA is a plus.
