The Finance Manager - Legal Entity Governance role is a part of the Corporate Accounting GL Close & Consolidation, Data & Statutory Governance team which provides global subsidiary support and guidance for legal entity terminations, statutory and master data compliance, and manages monthly close and consolidations for all Microsoft legal entities. The Finance Manager - Legal Entity Governance role will support the subsidiary termination lifecycle workstream, while providing support for future SAP infrastructure changes.

Support activities throughout the Legal Entity termination cycle collaborating with Legal, Tax, Controllership, and Treasury, including pre-liquidation planning and analysis, support for legal process, and post-liquidation accounting.

Manage complex accounting for Legal Entity liquidations, including creating bridges between US GAAP and statutory financial statements, preparing interim financial statements, journal entries, account reconciliations, and other analysis as required.

Complete SAP master data inactivation requirements for terminated legal entities, collaborating directly with the GL Master Data and Consolidations teams.

Create reports for key stakeholders and management related to Legal Entity Governance activities.

Create and analyze financial statements to determine legal lifecycle stage, support the legal termination process, and determine accounting plans for liquidating legal entities.

Assist with implementation of statutory tool enhancements, including UAT testing and community training.

Perform ad hoc requests and special assignments to support Legal Entity lifecycle and SAP infrastructure projects

Required/Minimum Qualifications

Master's Degree in Business, Accounting /Finance, or related field AND 1+ year(s) accounting or finance experience OR Bachelor's Degree in Business, Accounting /Finance, or related field AND 2+ years accounting or finance experience

1+ year(s) of experience in public accounting and/or industry practice
Additional/Preferred Qualifications:

CPA or advanced business degree

SAP or similar complex financial ERP system experience

International statutory filing and/or audit experience
Accounting IC3 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $76,800 - $151,900 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $100,800 - $168,000 per year.
