We are looking for an experienced and highly motivated person to join our team as a Finance Officer. Based out of Mercure Sydney, located in the heart of Sydney city and a 2-minute walk from Central train station.


Job Description

Are you a detail-oriented and service-driven finance professional looking to enhance your career in the hospitality industry? We are seeking a skilled Finance Officer to join our vibrant team, contributing to the financial success of our hotel. This role offers a unique opportunity to develop your skills across a range of financial functions, ensuring flexibility and growth within our Finance Department.

Key Responsibilities:

Accounts Receivable:

  1. Process credit applications and manage accounts receivable with precision.
  2. Ensure timely invoicing and debt collection.
  3. Maintain accurate records and resolve debtor inquiries efficiently.
  4. Verify credit card transactions and process payments accurately.

Accounts Payable:

  1. Verify invoices for accuracy and ensure proper authorization.
  2. Maintain up-to-date vendor information and process payments according to terms.
  3. Conduct reconciliations and ensure accurate accounting practices.

General Cashiering:

  1. Manage cash collections from hotel outlets.
  2. Assist with end-of-month journals and balance sheet reconciliations.
  3. Maintain accurate records and ensure secure cash handling practices.

Qualifications

Ideal Candidate:

  1. Education: Tertiary qualification in Finance, Business, or a related field.
  2. Experience: Minimum 1 year as a Night Auditor or Finance Officer, preferably in hospitality.
  3. Skills: Advanced computer skills, including Microsoft Office and financial software.
  4. Competencies: Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and able to work independently with strong communication skills.
