It starts with our people, which is why we need a Finance Paralegal to join our team. The Finance Paralegal is responsible for helping attorneys in the Corporate, Finance, and Transactions Groups.
Position Overview
Under the direction of Finance Transactions and Commercial Lending attorneys, and reporting to the Associate Director of Paralegals, this position supports the delivery of legal services in the areas of commercial finance and lending transactions. The role focuses on assisting attorneys with the preparation of standardized and transaction-specific documents, as well as coordinating and facilitating all aspects of transaction closings.
Responsibilities

Provides various coordination efforts with respect to the documentation and closing of commercial lending transactions.

Creates, composes, and edits written material such as transaction documents, UCC financing statements, correspondence and/or legal documentation.

Conducts corporate due diligence, lien searches; analyzes and summarizes results.

Ensures all pre-closing preparation, and post-closing follow up is properly completed in a timely manner.

Prepares and files Uniform Commercial Code financing statements with the various governmental offices.

Enters time and descriptions into InTapp and release daily
Essential Job Specifications/Qualifications

Proficiency in Microsoft Office program and document management systems.

Competency in conducting lien searches and analyzing and summarizing results.

Proven analytical and organizational skills and ability to pay very close attention to detail in an efficient manner.

Ability to deal professionally and communicate clearly and concisely both verbally and in writing; strong understanding of corporate structures and financing transactions.

Requires the ability to regularly report to work on the days and times scheduled and overtime as needed.
Travel

Ability to travel to domestic client location(s).
Education/Experience
-
Bachelor’s degree and/or Paralegal Certificate preferred

5+ years of experience in corporate finance, transactional law, or banking in large law firm environment

Experience with UCC filings and lien searches
Pursuant to the pay transparency laws, BCLP is posting a reasonable estimate of a compensation range for this position. At the time of posting, the estimated ranges by location are as follows: Chicago: ($100,000 - $118,000); Denver: ($90,000 - $115,000); New York ($110,000 - $140,000). Actual compensation will be influenced by various factors, including but not limited to the level of relevant experience, skill sets, training, licensure and certifications, internal equity, market data, and other job-related factors permitted by law. The range is based on a full-time work schedule. Additional compensation may include an annual discretionary bonus.
