Finance & Performance Strategy Lead

We are seeking a highly experienced Finance & Performance Strategy Lead to provide strategic financial leadership and hands-on financial oversight from their home office. This role is ideal for a seasoned finance professional who enjoys working remotely with growing businesses and influencing decision-making at a leadership level.

You will oversee financial strategy, forecasting, reporting, and compliance while partnering closely with ownership and leadership of multiple companies to drive sustainable growth and profitability.

Key Responsibilities

This position requires a weekly commitment of approximately 25-35 hours per week. Candidates must be flexible to work occasional evenings or weekends as needed.

Strategic Financial Leadership

• Serve as a trusted financial advisor to leadership and ownership
• Develop and implement financial strategies aligned with company and client goals
• Provide insights on cash flow, profitability, pricing, and growth initiatives

Financial Planning & Performance Analysis

• Analyze financial performance and provide actionable recommendations
• Monitor KPIs and financial metrics to support business decisions

Accounting & Reporting Oversight

• Oversee and perform monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting
• Ensure accuracy and timeliness of financial statements
• Coordinate with finance support team, CPAs, and tax professionals
• Empower leadership with accurate financial forecasting and
• Perform basic financial support tasks when needed

Cash Flow & Risk Management

• Manage cash flow planning and forecasting
• Identify financial risks and implement mitigation strategies
• Support financing, lending, or investor-related activities as needed

Systems & Process Improvement

• Evaluate and improve financial systems, controls, and processes
• Ensure compliance with applicable financial and regulatory standards
• Support implementation of accounting or ERP tools

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field (MBA or CPA preferred) or equivalent experience
• 8+ years of progressive financial management experience
• Prior experience as a CFO or senior finance leader
• Experience working with small to mid-sized businesses
• Proficiency in accounting software and financial reporting tools
• Excellent analytical, communication, and leadership skills
