We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Research Assistant to support a professor in the Finance department. The ideal candidate will possess strong data analytical skills, proficiency in econometrics, and familiarity with current analytical tools and software. This role requires excellent communication and presentation abilities to assist in research dissemination and collaboration with external stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with the design and execution of research projects related to finance, economics, and quantitative analysis.
- Conduct data collection and preparation, ensuring data integrity and accuracy.
- Perform statistical analysis using advanced econometric techniques and software (e.g., R, Stata, Python, or similar).
- Collaborate with the professor on writing research papers, reports, and grant applications.
- Prepare and present research findings effectively to academic and non-academic audiences.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of current trends, tools, and methodologies in finance and data analysis.
- Engage in literature reviews to support research objectives and enhance project quality.
- Organize and manage research data and resources, ensuring compliance with ethical research standards.
- Assist in administrative tasks related to research projects, including scheduling, documentation, and reporting.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Statistics, Data Science, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
- Demonstrated experience with data analysis and econometric modeling.
- Proficiency in a. Statistical software (e.g., R, Stata, SAS) and b. Data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Excel).
- Strong understanding of financial concepts, theories, and quantitative research methodologies.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex information clearly.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous experience in a research setting, preferably within an academic institution.
- Familiarity with programming (e.g., Python, SQL) for data manipulation and analysis.
- Publications or presentations in academic or professional settings.
