Finance Specialist (MSP Experience Required)

We are seeking a detail-oriented Finance Specialist with proven experience in the Managed Service Provider (MSP) industry. This role is responsible for managing all aspects of financial operations, including bookkeeping, accounts receivable (A/R), accounts payable (A/P), general ledger (G/L), reconciliations, financial reporting, and support for basic tax preparation.

The ideal candidate will ensure accuracy, compliance, and operational efficiency within a growing, technology-driven MSP environment. This position will also oversee the daily work of the AP Clerk, AR Clerk, and other finance support staff to ensure smooth financial operations and readiness for CPA review.

Key ResponsibilitiesFinancial Operations

• Manage full-cycle accounting, including A/R, A/P, G/L, reconciliations, and journal entries
• Oversee billing cycles; ensure timely invoicing and collections
• Maintain accurate financial records using QuickBooks Online and ConnectWise Manage
• Review and supervise the work of AP Clerks, AR Clerks, and finance support staff to ensure accuracy and compliance

Reporting, Tax & Compliance

• Prepare monthly financial reports, budgets, and forecasts
• Support the preparation of sales tax filings and corporate tax documentation for CPA review
• Ensure compliance with company policies, U.S. GAAP, and applicable financial regulations
• Assist with audits and financial reviews as needed

Collaboration & Process Improvement

• Partner with internal teams to streamline financial workflows
• Recommend and implement improvements to approval and payment processes
• Support initiatives to enhance operational efficiency and financial controls across departments

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of accounting or finance experience within an MSP or IT services environment
• Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial best practices
• Experience with QuickBooks Online, ConnectWise Manage, WisePay, and Sync365
• Familiarity with sales tax and corporate tax processes
• Experience supervising or coordinating finance support staff preferred
• Proficiency with remote collaboration tools (e.g., Teams, Slack, Zoom)
• Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to work independently
• CPA or equivalent certification preferred (not required)
