Finance Summer Internship

FLANDERS is a world leader in renewing machines for heavy industry, specializing in the largest and most intricate applications. Our expertise encompasses distributing, servicing, repairing, designing, and manufacturing electric rotating machines.

We are looking for a Finance Intern to join our Evansville, Indiana team for this summer! This internship provides an excellent opportunity for a student pursuing a degree in finance, accounting, or a related field to gain hands-on experience in a dynamic business environment. The Finance Intern will support financial analysis, reporting, and operational finance activities while learning how financial decisions support overall business performance.

Key Responsibilities/Projects:

• Analyze estimated vs actual job costs (labor, materials, freight).
• Identify recurring variance drivers.
• Build a structured close-out review process and supporting template for completed jobs.
• Flag systemic issues (labor hours overrun, material planning gaps, pricing misses) and discuss results with the leader.
• Partner with Operations to validate findings.

Qualifications:

• Must be enrolled full-time at a 4-year university/college in a relevant degree program
• Knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Teams, Excel, PPT, OneNote is desired.
• Basic ability on how to run analytics and identify trends.
• General knowledge of financial standards and compliance requirements.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks
• Ability to work with others of diverse cultures, interpersonal styles, and abilities in a constructive and collaborative manner
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Self-motivated, strong work ethic, innovative, solution-oriented mindset, with a passion for learning
