Finance Technical Lead

Finance Technical Lead

Location: Los Angeles, CA (Onsite)
Compensation: $150,000-$180,000 (Depending on experience)


About the Role

We are looking for an experienced Finance Technical Lead to serve as the primary technical authority for our ERP financial systems. This role will work closely with finance stakeholders and IT teams to gather requirements, explore innovative solutions, collaborate on financial reporting, and provide expert consultation on finance-related technical issues.


Key Responsibilities

  • Requirements Gathering:

    • Engage with finance stakeholders to understand business needs and pain points

    • Translate financial business requirements into clear technical specifications

    • Document functional and technical requirements for ERP enhancements and new features

    • Facilitate workshops and meetings with finance and IT teams to align on goals

    • Document processes & SOPs and offer improvements

    Solution Exploration:

    • Research and evaluate future-state solutions for financial systems and processes

    • Assess new ERP modules, third-party tools, and integrations that support finance operations

    • Propose scalable and cost-effective technical solutions aligned with business strategy

    • Stay current on ERP updates, financial technology trends, and best practices

    Financial Reporting Collaboration:

    • Partner with finance and accounting teams to design and develop financial reports

    • Build and customize reports within Financial and ERP system (P&L, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow, etc.)

    • Ensure data accuracy, integrity, and consistency across financial reporting

    • Collaborate with BI or analytics teams on dashboards and data visualization

    Technical Consultation:

    • Serve as the go-to technical expert for finance-related system issues

    • Troubleshoot and resolve complex financial system defects and discrepancies

    • Provide guidance on system configurations, workflows, and best practices

    • Support audits and compliance-related technical inquiries


Required Qualifications

  • Finance & ERP:

    • Strong understanding of financial processes (AP, AR, GL, budgeting, reconciliation)

    • Hands-on experience with Financial systems

    • Familiarity with financial reporting standards (GAAP, IFRS)

    Technical:

    • Python development experience within Odoo framework

    • Experience with SQL for financial data queries and reporting

    • Knowledge of ERP integrations and data migration

    • Familiarity with BI tools (Power BI, Tableau, or similar)

    Soft Skills:

    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

    • Excellent communication skills — ability to bridge finance and IT teams

    • Ability to manage multiple priorities and stakeholders

    • Strong documentation and presentation skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Odoo Finance/Accounting modules (v15, v16, or v17)

  • Experience with AWS cloud infrastructure

  • Knowledge of OAuth 2.0 / API integrations with financial systems

  • CPA or finance certification a plus

  • Experience with multi-company or multi-currency environments

Experience:

  • 4+ years of ERP or financial systems experience

  • 2+ years in a technical lead or senior consultant role

  • Prior experience in a finance or accounting environment strongly preferred
