Financial Accounting Analyst I

Classification: Full-time, Non-Exempt, In-Person

Hours: 8:00am to 5:00pm Monday through Friday, other days and hours as needed

Role:

Performs a variety of accounting analyst tasks, including daily reconciliations and maintenance of other accounting tasks assigned to the department.

Essential Functions & Responsibilities:

  • Processes Accounts Payable for CoreFirst Bank & Trust
  • Reconciles various daily reconciliations, including General Ledgers and Bank Accounts
  • Reconciles Item Processing
  • Ownership of the general ledger reject and ensuring items cleared timely
  • Daily rate changes
  • Processing Federated Trades/Redemptions
  • Process/approve wires for various correspondent accounts
  • Process Void Money Order and Cashiers Checks
  • Process Stop Payments on Money Orders and Cashiers Checks
  • Tracking checks received back from ATM deposits
  • Process IOLTA calculation
  • Ownership of 1099-INT on Savings Bond Redemptions
  • Understanding and maintaining database for Imaging Storage system
  • Serves as backup for Imaging Department
  • Various analyst projects as assigned

Requirements:

Experience:

  • Intermediate level of Excel required
  • Accounts Payable processing

Education:

  • Associate or Bachelor, with an emphasis on Business, Finance or Accounting preferred

Skills & Abilities:

  • Intermediate Tier Microsoft Office - Excel skill (10-key entry, ability to write basic mathematical formulas, sum columns, etc.); Intermediate computer skills including Microsoft Office - Word
  • Detail oriented with a high level of accountability for accuracy
  • Excellent organizational skills, including the ability to prioritize work and multi-task
  • Ability to work independently and handle a heavy volume of work
  • Strong initiative and independence in completing assignments
  • Ability to resolve conflicts
  • Adept listening, oral and written communication skills
  • Takes Initiative/self-starter
  • Ability to relate and empathize with people
