The Patient Financial Advocate counsels and assists patients/guarantors in finding ways to meet their financial obligations for services provided at any of the Door County Medical Center departments. Responsible for verifying insurance and providing estimates prior to the scheduled services at Door County Medical Center. Assisting indigent patients in obtaining services through assistance programs and will work with providers and their staff, as well as insurance companies to meet the needs of these patients.
Minimum Education Required: Associate or Bachelor degree preferred.
Minimum Related Years of Experience (per minimum education) Required: Two years healthcare or insurance experience. Epic experience preferred.
Credential/Licensure Required: CAC and HFMA certifications within one year
Shift: Working 36 hours a week, Monday- Friday.
