Financial AidPosition Summary
Full-time positions at Clovis Community College are not remote positions and require a physical presence on campus to fulfill duties and college-related responsibilities.Duties & Responsibilities
Answer student questions regarding financial aid via phone, email, test and chat in a timely fashion.
Provide counsel and assistance to students experiencing unusual circumstances including application or processing difficulties, changes in financial circumstances, inadequate resources, alternative funding options, consequences when changing or dropping classes, dependency appeals, and satisfactory progress appeals.
Assist students with the financial aid application.
Explain eligibility and other factors necessary for successfully completing financial aid process.
Evaluate and verify financial aid applications and supporting documents for accuracy, clarity, and completeness according to detailed and complex federal and state rules and regulations.
Assist in interpreting, applying and complying with federal, state and institutional regulations governing student financial aid; maintain current working knowledge of guidelines/regulations related to financial aid
Provide eligibility information on financial aid programs to students
Manage scholarship activities, eligibility, awarding and disbursements for scholarships
Assist in packaging financial aid funds and communicate to students and parents as needed
Help in processing SAR-C flags, Professional Judgement, and corrections to students’ FAFSAs
Present financial aid orientation sessions and talks at the main campus and extension centers as well as high schools and college fairs.
Provide support and training during SIS Workday project, architect and configure, complete configuration workbooks, test creation and participate in testing.

Must possess the ability to communicate with students individually and to present information in a group setting.
Must understand the complexities in relation to non-traditional students.
Demonstrate and possess a strong understanding of cultural competency, and how to communicate effectively to different audiences.
Ability to deal effectively with a variety of individuals and to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
Demonstrate sensitivity to the needs of students from a variety of backgrounds and cultures.
Ability to deal tactfully and courteously with students and staff.
Must be able to work independently and as part of a team.
Proficiency in computer applications is desired.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Requires frequent and continuous sitting/moving about, continuous use of fine motor skills, and pushing and pulling of up to 20 lbs.
SCHEDULE DETAILS:
Must be available to work 40 hrs. per week with normal work hours from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm. Occasional evening and weekend hours will be required. Travel in New Mexico and Texas will be required.

Minimum Qualifications:
Associate’s degree with course work in business, social science, or related area, or an equivalent combination of education and directly related experience on a year-for-year basis.
