Financial Analysist

Job Title: Financial Analyst

Reports To: VP Finance & Strategy

Salary Range: DOE

Status: Exempt (Salary)

Schedule: Full Time (40 hours or more per week)

Shift: Office (8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.)

Location: SLC

JOB SUMMARY:

The Financial Analyst is responsible for margin analysis, pricing discipline, and forward-looking financial modeling. This role partners closely with Sales, Operations, and Leadership to evaluate profitability, support quoting decisions, and provide data-driven insight into business performance. This role is analytical, commercially minded, and focused on maximizing gross margin and long-term value creation.

MAIN JOB FUNCTIONS:

Pricing & Quoting

  • Develop and validate customer price quotes.
  • Perform pricing reviews and margin impact analysis.
  • Model gross margin by product and customer.
  • Conduct scenario analysis related to raw material, labor, and volume changes.
  • Track quote-to-actual margin performance.

Margin & Profitability Analysis

  • Analyze gross margin trends and drivers.
  • Identify margin leakage and profitability improvement opportunities.
  • Conduct customer and SKU profitability analysis.
  • Support pricing strategy initiatives.

Financial Modeling & Decision Support

  • Build financial models to evaluate new business opportunities.
  • Support capital investment and expansion analysis.
  • Conduct break-even and sensitivity analyses.
  • Provide analytical support for cross-functional initiatives.

Inventory & Cost Insights

  • Monitor cost trends and identify drives of change.
  • Support standard cost reviews through data analysis.

Reporting & Dashboards

  • Develop and maintain KPI dashboards (margin, pricing, volume).
  • Provide variance explanations and performance insights.
  • Present findings clearly to leadership.

EDUCATION:

Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, or related field required.

WORK EXPERIENCE:

0-3 years of financial analysis experience (manufacturing preferred).

REQUIRED COMPETENCIES

Strong financial modeling capabilities, including gross margin analysis, scenario modeling, and profitability analysis.

Ability to synthesize large data sets into clear, actionable insights.

Deep understanding of how pricing, cost drivers, and volume impact profitability.

Ability to evaluate tradeoffs and make data-drive recommendations that support margin improvement and growth.

Applies sound financial reasoning to support quoting, pricing strategy, and investment decisions.

Comfortable operating with incomplete information and making structured assumptions when modeling scenarios.

Proficient in financial analysis tools and capable of working within ERP environments to extract and analyze data.

Strong attention to data integrity and analytical consistency.

Works effectively with Sales, Operations, and Leadership to support pricing discipline and strategic initiatives.

Able to translate financial analysis into clear business implications for non-financial stakeholders.

Delivers timely, decision-ready analysis under deadlines.

Demonstrates intellectual curiosity and proactively identifies opportunities for margin improvement.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

This position works in an office environment. Seldom exposure to fumes, dust or other airborne particles and exposure to allergens such as milk, eggs, fish, crustacean shellfish, tree nuts, peanuts, wheat, and soybeans.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Continuous use of hands, hearing/listening, talking. Frequent sitting, standing, walking, bending/stooping, and lifting up to 10 lbs. Seldom climbing stairs, kneeling/squatting, reaching overhead, and pulling/pushing, and lifting up to 50 pounds.
