Underwriter: Financial Analyst

Job Description: This role supports commercial bank loans ($1MM to $40MM) from initial loan data gathering, prepares brief credit pkg/underwrite with minimal turn-around times with use of businesses’ P&Ls & personal financial stmts., & manage respective commercial lenders’ questions until closing.

o With grit & raw intellect, we can easily train candidates for the contract position; pay based on skills & experience with opportunities for bonuses

Ideal candidate has:

o minimum 2-3 years of credit analyst experience & finance or accounting degree (or experience with financial statements) for Analyst, Associate/AVP, or VP level work

o working knowledge of P&Ls & Balance Sheet statements

Essential Job Functions:

o Ensure data quality & deal info on loan structures (based on level/experience)

o Create & organize VDRs (Virtual Data Rooms) for lenders & clients

o Manage assigned transactions, ensuring the loan requests are handled efficiently & processed in a timely manner, consistent with our standards

o Communicate with lenders, credit officers & clients/CEOs regarding deal specifics

o Track, monitor, & report activity on data requests & loan decisions, including maintaining a record of request data/documents received

o Exercise discretion & judgment in the performance of essential job functions

o Maintain good punctuality & attendance to work

o Analytical/technical skills, including financial accounting & modeling; calculate individual company & global &

o BS/BA degree with 2-3 years of with either formal commercial credit training or from a bank management training program

How You'll Spend Your Time:

o You will identify process improvements (efficiency / speed / quality / risk vs reward) in all facets of the loan fulfillment process

o You will develop & implement training strategies for team & new hires

Responsibilities:

o Prepare financial memos on prospective loan requests while managing loans & pipeline

o Analyze companies’ P&L & Balance Sheets & guarantors’ financials, prepare Debt Service Coverage model, & perform collateral analysis to ensure loans are appropriately structured & meet credit requirements for lending quality

o Review proposed loan structure & determine actions needed to sufficiently mitigate & manage risk

o Participate in client/prospect calls & in internal loan discussions to remain actively involved in structuring client loans

o Build trusted, collaborative & supporting relationships with internal & external business partners

o Represent the team in a highly professional manner

o Complete job assignments in a professional, timely & efficient manner; organize & prioritize work

o Reliable & predictable onsite attendance

o This opportunity provides exposure to many commercial business sectors (C&I & CRE) & exposure to a range of lending products (i.e. multi-unit franchise, EV/CF based, owner-occupied real estate, airplane, manufacturing)

o This opportunity is a contract 1099 pay with opportunity to receive quarterly bonuses
